About

After living off and on in the Washington, D.C. area for almost 40 years, Jay and his wife, Rachel, now make their home in Charlottesville, Virginia. During those “off” periods, they spent time in Louisiana, Wisconsin, New Mexico, and Arizona.

He has worked in patient relations for the U.S. Veterans Administration; survey design, data processing, and systems design for the U.S. Bureau of the Census; network administration for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; and information services for Bloomberg BNA, a private sector firm.

Jay is a member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, International Thriller Writers, and the Short Mystery Fiction Society.

Currently writing his second mystery novel and several short stories, he is searching for an agent for his first novel, the story of a grieving Roman Catholic priest who attempts to solve a series of apparently unrelated murders in a small Maryland town. Uncovering the truth challenges his faith and leads to a long-hidden secret someone close to him is desperate to keep hidden.

Jay’s publication debut, a short story titled “Francesca,” appears in the Sisters in Crime Desert Sleuths Chapter anthology, SoWest: Ladykillers, published in September 2019. The anthology, selected as a 2020 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards finalist, is available from Amazon at https://amzn.to/2oClp8p.
