March 30 – Following Ingrid Thoft’s excellent interview with American Guest of Honour C.J. Box, there was an emotional presentation to remember this year’s Lifetime Achievement Honouree, Sue Grafton, who passed away in December 2017. In addition to Toastmaster Cathy Ace and several other speakers, Jamie Clark, Sue’s daughter, spoke briefly about growing up in the home of a famous author. I never had the pleasure of meeting Sue, but I enjoyed every one of her Kinsey Millhone books. Sue has left an enduring legacy, and if I can be only a fraction as good a writer as she was, I will consider my effort a success.
