I am continuing to query agents for my first manuscript and taking solace from other writers who have told me how many rejections they endured before seeing their first books in print. While I wait, I’m also in the process of finishing a second book. I won’t make too much of anything until an agent says, “I would like to represent you,” but I did receive one reply from an agent who said I was “terribly talented.” (I sometimes toot my own horn.) I have also written several short stories. The effort is turning out to be more enjoyable than I first thought, and I have received positive feedback from a few of the contests I’ve entered, although I haven’t won anything yet. I’ve also submitted short stories to upcoming anthologies, but I’m still waiting for the results.
