The Virginia Festival of the Book, five days of literary events featuring local and national authors, wraps up tomorrow in Charlottesville, VA. The weather gods smiled today (less rain than forecasted) as we made our way to the Omni Hotel for the “Sequels and Segues: Crime Wave” panel featuring award-winning authors Yasmin Angoe, Alma Katsu, and Cara Black, with Bill Blume serving as moderator. (Unfortunately, Cara could not attend because of airline problems.) Yasmin discussed her Nena Knight series about an elite assassin, and Alma focused on her CIA experience as the basis for her Red Widow and Red London novels. If their books aren’t in your “to be read” pile, they should be.
