I’m a big (huge) fan of book festivals. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the Williamsburg Book Festival in Williamsburg, VA. As usual, I came home with several books to add to my “To Be Read” pile, which is in danger of toppling.
The two novels, both recently published, are The Hint of Light by Kristin Kisska and December Rain by Tim Holland.
Kristin’s debut book tells the story of a mother grieving the sudden death of her son, the revelation that he may have fathered a child, and the search for her granddaughter. Her quest reveals a seemingly never-ending string of secrets.
Tim’s novel is the fourth in his Sidney Lake Lowcountry Mystery series. The story, set in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, examines a centuries-old secret kept by a former slave and a treasure hunt to solve multiple murders.
The other three books are anthologies containing short stories written by many excellent authors. Virginia is for Mysteries, Volume II, includes stories in and around Virginia. 50 Shades of Cabernet focuses on wine mysteries, while the stories in Murder by the Glass: Cocktail Mysteries examine mysteries, beverages, and murders.
Whatever you’re reading…enjoy!
