August Snow is a man trying to get his life back. Detroit is a city trying to get its identity back. Stephen Mack Jones has done a masterful job telling both stories, and I don’t believe he could tell one without the other. As compelling as Snow is as protagonist, this is a book where the setting becomes almost an equal character, often as antagonist. Both are rough, tough, angry, and hopeful. When I finished the book I had a good feeling that both would not only survive, but get better…and kick butt and take a few names along the way. Congratulations to SMJ on a great story.
