Laurie R. King appeared at The Poisoned Pen Bookstore in Scottsdale on Thursday, November 21. Laurie signed copies of her new self-published book, Beginnings: A Kate Martinelli Novella. Kate begins to investigate a years-old case, the death of her sister in the 1980s. She finds problems with the evidence and begins to wonder if her sister’s death was really an accident, or perhaps a suicide, or something darker.
